Publication of an article by a faculty member for the Accounting Department in Bozorgmehr University of Qaenat in a prestigious international journal having an impact factor of 3,4
this article by Dr. Maliheh Ashna, a member of the faculty for accounting department in Bozorgmehr University of Qaenat, entitled: Implications for the Iranian economy from climate change effects on agriculture—"a static computable general equilibrium approach " in the journal of "Theoretical and Applied Climatology" has been published with the validity of "JCR-Q2" and the impact factor of "3,4".
Climate conditions directly affect certain economic activities, especially those related to agriculture. In Iran, agricultural production has decreased due to droughts caused by the increase in Annual Maximum Temperature and decrease in rainfall. Based on a computable general equilibrium (CGE) approach, this article models and predicts the economic effects of climate change on Iran's economy based on scenarios in the reduction of agricultural production. The consequences that climate change is expected to impose on Iran's agricultural sector has been analyzed -with this assumption that there is no behavioral adaptation or policy intervention.
The results of this research show that the effects on Iran's economy in different scenarios lead to a decrease in gross domestic product, labor mobility from the agricultural sector, and a decrease in household income and consumption, especially in rural households. Also, in addition to reducing food accessibility due to increased import prices, climate change can negatively affect food security, especially for low-income deciles. Based on this, it is suggested that in Iran, policy making should focus on improving cultivation methods to save water resources and reduce the expected effects of climate change.
